Idea for Character Dae.

“Always take control of power, never let power take control of you,” the words of my instructor rang in my ear. Those words sank into my mind that day, the day I left the Hackerman Academy of Swordsman Arts. That line had been proved so many times through Jehl’s bloody history. There was not one chapter in our history in which a war wasn’t waged because some Jehlian lord wanted to flaunt his power in the faces of our enemies and even sometimes our allies. He had individually instructed me on that principle since I was the strongest of all the students he had taught. I graduated the day he told me that, he knew what was to come. But I was young and ignorant then I had no idea it was a battle I was going to be fighting for the rest of my life.

I looked at my certificate of swordsmanship and smiled. In my head I checked off one of my goals. With this piece of paper I could become a soldier possibly even a knight. The sound of that idea made me sigh; I didn’t quite like the idea of having to obey the lord’s every whim. No, that didn’t sound fun at all. First off, I looked down at the tunic and old pants I was wearing. Some armor would be nice, a tunic won’t help me much in battle. However, plate armor would cause me severe difficulty in the way that it would be unimaginably heavy. Ah I knew it, leather armor. Light armor, but decently protective.

Two arms embraced me The warmth of the arms comforted me as the girl of my dreams hugged me from behind. “Daekidda, we’re free…” she whispered into my ear. I smiled, nodded and turned back to her.

“That, my lady, is correct,” I responded trying to sound knightly.
